TOBACCO ROSE – PAPILLON PERFUMERY

12/05/2014

I deteste traffic.

Stationary, I scan about my car to observe a pile of envelopes, some old receipts and a sample pack from Papillon Perfumery received early that day; what a pleasant distraction.

In true lucky dip style, I reach into the packet and pull out an elegant sample bottle – “Tobacco Rose”, intriguing. I quickly turn off the car radio, spray a few times on my wrist and neck, take a few deep whiffs and relax.

Despite the gridlocked traffic, I’m suddenly in a very different place. A calm, tranquil, almost trance-like state; free from stress and anguish.

I’m greeted with a sweet and sensual rose essence, a powdery concoction that conjures a makeup-like aroma. The sweeter notes are perfectly balanced courtesy of a hint of Oakmoss and a touch of Hay.

Tobacco Rose is hypnotic and addictive. I’m subconsciously compelled to keep smelling my wrist for the next fix, which can’t come soon enough.

Equally as impressive as the smell, the staying power of this little beauty is exceptional. 16 hours later I still return to my wrist to the faint yet remaining essence of Tobacco Rose.

We have Elizabeth Moores, a perfumer from the New Forest, to thank for this genius creation. With such a love and passion for her work, it’s really no surprise that the resulting Tobacco Rose is nothing short of a masterpiece; unique, alluring and incredibly moorish!

With great enthusiasm I’ve sampled this perfume on numerous participants, men and women alike, only to receive honest, complimentary feedback.

I’ve never smelt anything quite like Tobacco Rose, I love it.

Due to launch in the coming months, keep an eye out for Papillon Perfumery’s Tobacco Rose, especially those with a love for a truly spectacular niche fragrance.

Some Notes

Bulgarian Rose, Oakmoss, Beeswax, Hay, Vetiver and Ambergris.
